1. If you’re new to Wordpress and blogging, then the best way to get started is read up on it. Here’s a great ebook introduction to blogging from the famous blogging guru Seth Goddin. If you prefer to have a book you can carry around and plonk on your desk then we recommend Wordpress for Dummies.

2. If you still use Internet Explorer we strongly advise ditching it and using Firefox as your internet browser. It is the bloggers browser of choice, and for many good reasons. It is faster, has better bookmarking, built in RSS ‘live bookmarks’ and much more. The great thing is you can very easily add plugins - many of which greatly enhance and ease your blogging. Firefox and Wordpress were a match made in heaven




3. You probably got some coupons for free Adwords and Yahoo! advertising when you signed up for a webhost. Don’t let them go to waste, you can get great quality targeted traffic straight to your blog with this free adverting credit. Go register yourself or your company at Adwords and Yahoo!, ready for your blog launch. We’ll also give you a free ebook on getting the most out Adwords, once you’re up and running.




4. Are you planning on making some money with your blog? Even if that’s not your main aim it’s worth putting an Adsense bar on your blog to get a trickle of money coming in. We’re installing the plugin for you. You just need to go sign-up at Google.

2. Get a Webhost

This is where your Wordpress blog will live. If you don’t have a Webhost, select one from our approved list below. These Webhosts provide fast and reliable international services which we have personally reviewed and tested.
We’ve tried to leave out most of the jargon and just list the best low cost packages to go for. The ‘1 Year cost’ is for ease of comparison, and includes any discount offers that we’ve been able to negotiate for you. These hosts offer a number of payment options, paying for a year or more upfront often gives the best value for money. Of course, you can be cautious and pay monthly - and all of these hosts offer a 30 day or more, money back guarantee.

If you are expecting really high volumes of traffic then check out the hosts and select a ‘dedicated server’ package.

Once you have registered you will get a username and password. Make a note of this.

If you already have a webhost we will still install Wordpress for free. Please note, we can only offer this service on Linux (Unix) based hosting with PHP and MySQL installed.
